MPTN ELDERS – ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I (FT)

Under the direction of Director, the incumbent plans, schedules, coordinates, and performs a wide variety of administrative activities including the handling of extremely confidential and sensitive matters, and various community and Tribal Elders issues. Requires a high degree of initiative, discretion and independent judgment, and a knowledge of Tribal organization and resources, policies, practices and procedures. High school diploma or the equivalent (GED), with one year of directly related work experience required. Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, coordinate and execute diverse projects and assignments. Demonstrated ability in handling extremely sensitive and confidential data from several sources. Ability to handle pressure situations in an effective and efficient manner. Understanding of or ability to acquire an understanding of the Title VI objectives, and philosophies. Ability to represent the Tribe before community and governmental agencies, boards of directors and other related groups. General knowledge of accounting and budgeting concepts and practices. Demonstrated ability to use common software packages for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics and desktop publishing. Must be knowledgeable in word and excel. Must hold a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
