Education and Recreation – Tutor (PT)

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Education, the incumbent researches and selects teaching materials and designs and presents individualized academic lesson plans based on the student’s goals and developmental needs. Structures tutoring sessions as appropriate to support the needs of individual learners. Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university preferred; a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years teaching or tutoring experience required. Experience working in a multi-cultural and/or Native American environment is highly desirable. Basic knowledge and experience in the use of computers is also required. A current and valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to motivate students to work to the best of their ability. Must be able to create an atmosphere of respect. Must have the ability to organize and plan work, to effectively utilize time and resources available. Requires travel to local schools and tribal family homes. Requires availability on some nights and weekends.
