Collections Management – Archivist (FT)

Under the supervision of the Executive Director the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of the activities of Archives of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. Master’s degree in library science, archival studies or related field. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in archival collection administration, including accessioning, processing, and deaccessioning archival and library collections. Strong background in arrangement, description, preservation and reference services. Experience working with various physical formats including paper, sound recordings, video material and photographs. In-depth knowledge of current metadata and archival standards including DACS, EAD and MARC 21 required. Experience using Gallery, PastPerfect or other archival management software required. Knowledge of copyright, rights management and privacy law required. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture a plus.
